In a further sign that Pakatan Rakyat's Johor campaign is being taken seriously by Barisan Nasional, Chinese schools nationwide have been instructed to send teachers to attend a gathering in Johor Baharu.
The event, to be held on April 16 at the Foon Yew Chinese 1 school located at Jalan Kebun Teh, will be attended by interim Education minister Muhyiddin Yasin.
A circular dated April 5 issued by the Federal Territory Education Department stipulates that attendance to the event is compulsory.
The letter states that each school is required to send one senior teacher alongside another teacher.
It further says that the event is part of the government's efforts to realise "national educational goals".
A source from the department told Harakahdaily that the teachers will be transported by buses from Kuala Lumpur to Johor, and will arrive back in Kuala Lumpur late evening. -HD
