Umno-BN agents threaten to release more sex videos

Umno-BN agents threaten to release more sex videos implicating Anwar, Nurul, MB KhalidPKR secretary-general Saifuddin Nasution dropped a bombshell on Tuesday, revealing that agents he claimed were from Umno-BN had threatened to release more pornographic videos and pictures of three top Opposition leaders - Permatang Pauh MP Anwar Ibrahim, Lembah Pantai MP Nurul Izzah and Selangor Chief Minister Khalid Ibrahim.

"They want to inflict the maximum damage," Saifuddin told a press conference on Tuesday.

"But we are confident the people will reject gutter politicking. From our observations, Malaysians want to choose their leaders based on policies and ideas offered. Our invitation to Umno-BN for debate have been rejected, our calls for discourse and discussion have been snubbed, we have launched our manifesto. But they only launch videos."

According to Saifuddin, the agents had approached PKR leaders some 2 or 3 days ago while they were at ceramahs (political briefings).

"We sat in the car and looked through what they offered to show us. They threatened us and to expose the videos and the pictures," Saifuddin declined to give further information as to what the agents had wanted in return.

"But we are used to all these scandals by now and we will take it in our stride."

Nothing to offer after 55 years but XXX-PLUS?

Saifuddin, who is the PKR MP for Machang, said the video and pictures shown to them were of Anwar and Nurul, while sources had told him another sex video was being "manufactured" that would feature Khalid.

At the sidelines of the press conference, Saifuddin later told Malaysia Chronicle (see video) that the material was of "extremely poor quality", without sound and not at all clear. But the motive, he said, was to create the impression of improper conduct.

When asked if the videos contained explicit sexual content, Saifuddin said the agents had labelled the videos XXX-PLUS.

Sex sex sex to get worse

Malaysia is due to hold its 13th general election soon, and many observers are expecting the Pakatan Rakyat led by Opposition Leader Anwar Ibrahim to score an upset win, effecting the country's first-ever regime change since 1957.

The 5-year mandate of Prime Minister Najib Razak's government ended on March 8, and Parliament will automatically dissolve on April 28 even if he refuses to do so. GE13 is expected to be held latest by May 26.

With the stakes so high, Najib's Umno-BN coalition has gone into overdrive, unleashing a slew of economic goodies and cash aids to retain the loyalty of voters, particularly from the predominant Malay-Muslim electorate.

Najib and Umno have also been accused of hitting under the belt and, due to their tactics that have resulted in two rounds of sodomy charges against Anwar, have become almost synonymous for a brand of 'sex sex sex' politics wherein sexual scandal were used to tarnish and destroy political rivals.

"Sex sex sex will get even worse when campaigning officially begins. We would urge the Umno-BN to heed the people's wishes and compete on a platform of policies and issues," said PKR communications director Nik Nazmi, who was also at the press conference.
