GEORGE TOWN: The magistrate’s court has set Nov 21 for case management of three women and a man who pleaded not guilty to posing nude at the Teluk Kampi beach here in May.
Magistrate Muhammad Najib Ismail has set the date today to allow the defence to obtain the relevant documents from the prosecution.
The three women, Chew Tok Hwa, 57, Chan Chin Weng, 27, Teh Guan Hoon, 37, and Kong Meng Leong, 38, were released on bail of RM4,000 with one surety each.
They have been accused of public nudity at the Pantai Teluk Kampi in the Penang Recreational Park between 3pm and 6pm on May 30.
The are expected to be charged under Section 294(a) of the Penal Code (Act 574) and Section 294 of the same Act which carries a jail term of three months, a fine or both if convicted.
Prosecuting officer Insp. Wan Noraini Ahmad will appear on behalf of deputy public prosecutors Razali Che Ani and Edward Chan.
Teh is represented by defence counsel Jason Khor Jit Cheng while the three others by Gobind Singh Deo.-fmt
